Helsinki Line Dancers organizes technique workshops to all who are interested in dance technique at XXXXXXXXX (XXXXXXXX) XX.XX.2026, XX.XX.2026 and XX.XX.2026 (3 times aka 3 modules worth) at XX:XX – XX:XX.

1. module focuses on at least on basic line dance technique, for instance body posture and the use of arms and legs.

2. module focuses on at least on how to dance through the floor, usage of hands and spinning.

3. module focuses on at least on rhythm and accenting, musical interpretation and smooth movement.

You can participate in just one module or all the modules.

Your starting level can be zero, there is no need for a prior dance experience to learn about technique. Classes contain theory and practice, trying to balance both. Clothing for the course is free of choice, we recommend comfortable clothing (for instance t-shirt and pants) and comfortable shoes to dance in (shoes need to be fit for use in the interior spaces). A water bottle is also good to bring along.

Your instructor will be Mikael Mölsä (featured in the picture), a known figure in the finnish line dance scene. Mikael has over 25 years of experience teaching line dance to various levels. Mikael’s way of teaching can be described as energetic and engaging and students enjoy his classes.

The package containing all the modules costs 70 euros. You can also pay the modules as one-off payments, 25 euros per module. Sadly you cannot use sports benefits as a payment.

The workshops are cheaper to those who have provenly danced at Helsinki Line Dancers before XX.XX.2026. To these dancers the package is 60 euros (20 euros per module).

If you arrive for the first time: if the door is not open when you arrive, ring the black doorbell and someone will come and open the door for you.

Additional info about the venue of the teachings you can find here.

Something else on your mind? Feel free to contact use via our contact info (we recommend e-mail). We’ll respond to your message as soon as we can.

Reasons to learn dance technique are multiple: one reason can be that you want to compete in the future and for that you want to develop your dancing skills. One reason is because you want to make your dancing look better. Mostly recommended reason is that it eases your dancing.

When you master your body better, you can more easily do things choreographies require. You can also unleash your creativity much easier when you master the steps and the movement of your body better. Technique, unlike choreographies, is not mastered in a short time and to finesse it takes time and repetition, so it is best to start working on your technique at the early stage of your dancing career. This way you will not learn bad manners that you need to learn out of before you can learn the proper technique.
