Helsinki Line Dancers offers three different levels during it’s evenings: beginners course, improvers course and regular teaching that levels from Intermediate and above. For both courses you need to register separately. Instead of an individual course registration you can also register for the package option (more about it later in the text).
For the regular classes you do not register, you can simply enter the class and pay the participation either as a one-off payment or by getting yourself a card that is valid for 10 classes.
Registration for the courses
For both courses you register via the form, after which you will receive a information e-mail containing instructions on payment. This means that your registration is accepted and you have been registered for the course. If you cannot be accepted to the course due to it being full, you will be placed on a waiting list that will be unpacked as previously accepted people drop out. The payment for the course is expected to be done one week before the start of the course (at the latest). If the payment is not done before the passing of the deadline, the registration is passed to the first one on the waiting list.
The only exception to the payment is that you pay the course as one-off payments after each class. In that case the payment is always done via MobilePay or PayPal. Failure to make the payment after the class is a justified cause to cancel the participation of the participant to the course.
At the same price you can stay for free at the social dancing and regular teaching that starts at 20:15. The level of the regular class is Intermediate and above.

What does it mean purchasing a packet solution?
Purchasing a packet solution means that you will register to both beginners course and the improvers course. The price for this package is 135 euros, meaning that you’ll pay 90 euros for the improvers course and 45 euros for the beginners course.
There are conditions to the solution, however. All the people who get the packet solution are processed at the improvers course as those who have registered for just the improvers course. But their registration for the beginners class is put on waiting list. All the people who register only to the beginners course have a priority.
If the maximum level of beginners registrations is not met, the people who have registered to the packet solution are accepted to the beginners course in the order they have registered. But if the beginners class is sold out, the registration to the beginners course by the packet solution purchasers is cancelled.
This is because we want to take in as many new dancers to the beginners course as we can so that no-one who wants to learn line dance for the first time is left out.
Naturally those who get the package solution should pay only their improver course payment. They should NOT PAY THE BEGINNERS COURSE BEFORE BEING ACCEPTED INTO THE BEGINNERS COURSE. Confirmation to the beginners course is given a week before the beginners course is due to begin. Naturally at this point the payment doesn’t need to be made a week before the start of the beginners course.
Furthermore, people who get the package solution need to take into account that the courses move along at the pace they are suppose to, meaning that at the beginners course the pace is at the beginners pace and at the improvers course the pace is the improvers pace.
Those who get the package solution are expected to be able to master line dancing at least on the improver level.
At the same price you can stay for free at the social dancing and regular teaching that starts at 20:15. The level of the regular class is Intermediate and above.

Line dance is a form of dance that originated from the european ballroom dances from where it moved over to the United States where it evolved to the better-known form of dancing to Country music. To Finland line dance arrived at 1993, when at the lead of Mika Nurminen it started to spread around the country. At the turn of the millenium line dance had it’s next major change when other types of music such as latin music and irish music started gaining traction amongst the line dance community. Soon other forms of music, such as ballroom and hiphop assimilated themselves to the line dance scene.
Nowdays line dance is a melting pot of all kinds of dancing and on the floor you come across moves and patterns from other styles of dancing, such as moonwalks, batucadas, curved feathers, running mans and other patterns and moves. Musically line dance encompasses all kind of music and songs that have some sort of a logical structure of beat. A careful estimation puts the amount of line dances in the world over 200.000. The biggest website in the world, Copperknob is a home to about 165.000 stepsheets.
